Business Woman of the Year Award

The Business Woman of the Year Award heralds the past and present achievements of an outstanding business woman in Clayton County.
Nominations are received from the community. The nominees are asked to complete an application which goes through a review and rating process by a panel of judges. The judges select and interview three finalists and then choose one winner. The winner is announced at the Clayton County Chamber of Commerce Annual Women in Business Luncheon.
The panels of judges are past Business Woman of the Year Award recipients (formerly the Athena Award) and two professors from Clayton State University’s School of Business.Award Criteria:
- Demonstrates leadership through active participation in a Clayton County-based business, educational or governmental organization.
- Is consistently involved in charitable or community service in Clayton County.
- Shows professional accomplishment, obstacles overcome, innovations or discoveries made, etc.
- Must be at a managerial level of the business or organization.
- The business, educational or governmental organization that she is responsible for must have been in operation for a minimum of three years.
- Must be a Clayton County Chamber of Commerce member in good standing.
